AABC Conference 2015

The Archives Association of British Columbia (AABC) is pleased to host "Living Archivally" the AABC 2015 Workshop, Conference and AGM on April 23rd and 24th, 2015 in Coquitlam, BC.  The conference will consider the ways in which we can raise awareness about archives and recordkeeping with researchers, stakeholders, government organizations, and the general public.

The Coquitlam Public Library has generously provided free parking during business hours on conference day.  Conference attendees please park in designated library parking above the Library then go to the Circulation desk to pick up a pass from a Circulation Staff Member.

April 23, 9 am to 4 pm

Workshop:  Records Management 101

Instructor:  Kelly Stewart, Coordinator, AABC Education and Advisory Service

This one-day workshop will introduce particpants to the foundational concepts of records management, including business analysis, records inventorying, classification, and scheduling, set in the context of the digital environment.  The course will also place records management in the wider information environment.  Particpants will learn about international standards such as Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles and ISO15489.

This course is for archivists, librarians, and administrators who have had records management thrust upon them, as well as those new to the information management field.  Curious onlookers also welcome.

Join other archivists for a fun evening of bowling and pizza!  Fee includes 2 games, shoe rental, all the pizza you can eat, taxes and tip.
