BC Government's Approach to Information Management Compliance Assessment - Teresa Woods & David Padgett, BC Gov't  

This session introduces the B.C. government's information management audit and assessment program, which aims to objectively evaluate information management practice against existing legislative and policy requirements. Presenters will discuss approach, assessment methodology and the goals of the program. 

 

Assessing Your Records Management Program Using the Maturity Model - Ken Oldenburger, consultant

Using the Generally Accepted Recordskeeping Principles and the Maturity Model, Ken will direct information professionals on how to formally or informally assess their organisation's records management program. Bring your free copy of the MM with you when you attend!

 

Digitization Initiatives at Library and Archives Canada - Marnie Burnham, LAC

This presentation will highlight a few of the digitization initiatives at LAC and efforts to make this content available to Canadians. It will provide an overview of their design, implementation and forecasted outcomes.

 

Engaging the Public through Online Learning & Outreach - Liz Crocker, RBCM

The Learning Portal allows the Royal BC Museum and BC Archives to connect collections with a broader audience and meet the needs of students and teachers. Liz will talk about challenges and benefits of aligning content with the new BC Curriculum for K-12.

 

Mopping Up Metadata: Excel Formulas & Functions - Katrina Cohen-Palacios

This presentation introduces beginner and intermediate Excel functions to perform quality control on metadata. The advantages and pitfalls of manipulation with the conditional formatting, data validation, and formula functions will be explored.

 

Legal Issues in Record Keeping in the Cloud - Darra Hofman, SLAIS

Darra Hofman will give an overview of the findings of InterPARES Trust, a multi-national, interdisciplinary research project exploring issues concerning digital records and data entrusted to the internet.
