Welcome to 2012 Archives Week!

This year Archives Week takes place from Sunday, November 18th to Saturday, November 24th. Archives Week traditionally falls on the week of November 19th, Douglas Day, when the Crown colony of British Columbia was established by its first governor, Sir James Douglas, in 1858.

This year the AABC is celebrating Volunteerism and Archives. This year's theme for Archives Week is a reminder to our community to become involved in volunteerism, promote volunteerism and honour those volunteers that help make archival work possible. In today's financially strained times, it is more important than ever to encourage and appreciate volunteers as well as getting involved yourself.

For more information on the Archives Association of British Columbia and how you can help or get involved please visit:  http://aabc.ca/events/archives-week/.
