Description: Joining our Business Support Services Department and under the leadership of the Manager - Records & Information Privacy, you will work with IT with respect to the implementation of the records management portion of an Enterprise Content Management system.
Responsibilities: In addition to coordinating the quality assurance, testing and acceptance of the ERM application, you will, in conjunction with IT, develop policies/procedures for use of the system, as well as support its implementation and promote its use across the organization. You will also manage its daily operation and security, and provide system/database administrative support and troubleshooting services. Conducting training will also be a feature of your mandate, as will providing expertise to program areas regarding records information systems and records management practices.
Qualifications: Join a great organization and use your five or more years of related records management experience. Your solid working experience , preferably with recent experience in implementing ERM systems within the public sector, is backed by a diploma in Business Management that includes courses in ERM and, ideally, formal training in records management. Equivalencies will be considered. As such, you should have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices, statutory requirements and government policy relating to records management.
You possess experience at a supervisory level and are able to assign/monitor the work of staff as well as provide direction in the resolution of work-related issues. Effective communication, consensus building and interpersonal skills are expected, likewise well-developed analytical and organizational capabilities.

(Young Canada Works Program) City Of New Westminster New Westminster, BC
Position: The New Westminster Museum and Archives has a summer employment opportunity for an Archives Assistant. Please note that the staffing of the position and its duration are conditional on the approval of the grant application submitted to the Young Canada Works program.
Job Description: • Assist the public with reference inquiries; • Help the Assistant Archivist with accessioning; • Help the Assistant Archivist with the arrangement and description of textual records; • Help the Assistant Archivist with processing maps and drawings; • Help the Assistant Archivist with basic preservation tasks; • Digitize, describe and index historic photographs; • Perform other related duties.
Duration: 15 weeks, May 6, 2010 to August 20, 2010
Qualifications: • Please note that in order to apply you must be: 1. Registered in the Young Canada Works inventory at www.youngcanadaworks.ca; 2. Between the ages of 16 and 30; 3. A full-time student in the semester preceding the YCW job and intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the job; • Priority is given to candidates who have not previously participated in a summer work experience program; • Completion of a year of study in an Archival Studies or Library Science program at a recognized university. • Preference may be given to those with previous work or volunteer experience in archives; • Familiar with the theory and principles of archives operations; • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team. • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English; • Excellent attention to detail; • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products; • Pass and maintain a criminal record background check.
Salary: This position offers an hourly rate of $15.92 plus 12% in lieu of benefits

GUIDELINES
The AABC On-Line Job Board lists employment opportunities in B.C. or of interest to members of the BC archival community in the fields of archives and records management.
Employment opportunities will be listed under two headings: Professional positions and Technician, Support and Volunteer positions.
Professional positions include jobs that require the applicant to have a recognized degree in archival studies or records management, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technician, support and volunteer positions include jobs that are suitable for applicants who do not have formal archival training or are volunteer or support positions within an organization.
To submit a posting to the Job Board: Submitted postings should include a brief job description, salary and benefit information, a deadline for application, and contact information (including mail, telephone, and e-mail). All submissions will be reviewed and the AABC reserves the right to edit and layout postings, and to ask for revisions or decline submissions which are not deemed appropriate for the site.
