BC Archival Preservation Service
The British Columbia Archival Preservation Service
offers AABC member institutions access to a wide range of
conservation services, including:
- Facility assessment surveys
- Environmental monitoring and environmental equipment loan kits
- Collection surveys
- Preservation hotline
- Disaster preparedness planning and assistance
- Preservation workshops
- Informal on-site training
- Library and resource information
- AABC Newsletter conservation articles
Site visits / surveys will be written up in formal reports that can be used to:
- Develop short / long term preservation plans
- Identify preservation priorities
- Improve environmental conditions
- Increase preservation awareness through informal training during on-site visits
- Develop preservation strategies
- Develop disaster preparedness plans
Preservation services are available:
- By phone, mail, or e-mail
- By on-site visits
- Through speaking engagements at AABC regional meetings or at other meetings or forums
NOTE: BCAPS Services are available only to institutions with a current AABC membership
