BC Archival Preservation Service

 
The British Columbia Archival Preservation Service offers AABC member institutions access to a wide range of conservation services, including:

  • Facility assessment surveys
  • Environmental monitoring and environmental equipment loan kits
  • Collection surveys
  • Preservation hotline
  • Disaster preparedness planning and assistance
  • Preservation workshops
  • Informal on-site training
  • Library and resource information
  • AABC Newsletter conservation articles

Site visits / surveys will be written up in formal reports that can be used to:

  • Develop short / long term preservation plans
  • Identify preservation priorities
  • Improve environmental conditions
  • Increase preservation awareness through informal training during on-site visits
  • Develop preservation strategies
  • Develop disaster preparedness plans

Preservation services are available:

  • By phone, mail, or e-mail
  • By on-site visits
  • Through speaking engagements at AABC regional meetings or at other meetings or forums

NOTE:  BCAPS Services are available only to institutions with a current AABC membership
