The City of Abbotsford’s Legislative Services Division is seeking a hard-working, self-motivated Co-op Student for a four month Records Management Co-op position from May to August 2020. In this role you will be exposed to the City’s Electronic, Document, Archival and Retrieval (CEDAR) system, support the Legislative Services team with a number of projects and assist in improving customer service to the general public, staff and City legal counsel.

Job Duties may include:
 Reviewing and updating retention schedules within the Records Classification Schedule;
 Reviewing permanent records and cross referencing with updated retention schedules;
 Digitizing City records;
 Supporting the development of workflow design in the CEDAR system; and
 Developing a questionnaire for departments to assist in creating a business case for application programming interfaces (APIs) for the CEDAR system.

 Currently enrolled in a cooperative education program at a post-secondary institution in the area of Library Science, Archival Studies, History, Political Science, Business Administration or English and returning to school full-time in the subsequent academic year;
 Ability to understand and interpret policies, procedures, and legislation;
 Experience with research and information retrieval;
 Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time; and
 Familiarity with information management and information systems is an asset.
The hourly rate of pay for this position is as follows plus an additional 4% in lieu of benefits:

 1 st year student $16.98
 2 nd year student $18.43
 3 rd year student $19.90
 4 th year student $21.65
