Let the AABC help you with your orientation and archives training for summer grant positions, student interns, volunteers, and employees in the heritage and information management field who will be working with, or are interested in archival records. In this 2.5 hour webinar, participants will be introduced to key archival concepts and strategies for organizing legacy collections (aka tackling your backlog of records). We will also talk about best practices and standards for processing records in different formats including textual records, photographs, audio visual media, and electronic records. Discussion will include how to create a stable and secure environment to promote the long-term preservation, access, and use of archival records. A copy of the presentation slides and resource handouts will be provided to participants upon registration.
