Workshop: “Managing an Oral History Program” Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2025 Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm PST Location: online via Zoom Workshop description: Join us to learn about this treasured record found within many archival collections. In this ½ day workshop, participants will learn strategies for managing legacy oral history collections and how to assess, appraise, and discuss best practices for digitizing existing interviews in your holdings. The second part of the workshop will review steps for establishing a new oral history program and consider topics including interview questions, consent forms, and review copyright and privacy considerations. This workshop is designed for archivists, curators/collections managers, cultural knowledge keepers, and those responsible for managing, participating in, or preserving oral history records. Workshop slides and resources will be provided to participants before the training starts. Instructor: Lisa Glandt, AABC EAS Coordinator Lisa Glandt has been the Education and Advisory Services (EAS) Coordinator for the Archives Association of British Columbia since 2015 where she provides support and guidance to archival organizations and archivists throughout the province. In this role she delivers custom archival training, workshops and webinars; teaches distance education courses; and consults and provides hands-on experience during site visits. Over the last 25 years she has worked in a wide variety of archival and records management settings including museums, municipal government and academic institutions. She has also worked for private organizations, helping them to set up and successfully manage their archival holdings. Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in History from SFU and a Master of Archival Studies from UBC (MAS, 2001). Workshop Registration Fee:
